A borderline-ride between Funk/rock and Dance, Memphis Nights is a rich cinematic sound. Strong funky beats, layered with full samples and sounds, and infused with one of the most unique soulful voices today.

Australian borne blues and country rock artist Richard O’Brien (a.k.a Memphis Nights) started playing on the Melbourne streets with an underground community group of artists and musicians who lived in empty office buildings they called “The Hives”. Experiencing the dark sub-culture city streets, Memphis soon moved to the bass guitar as his preferred instrument to match his sound and writing style and at 18 moved his entourage into the bars and clubs.

2012 and Memphis Nights now lives in Vienna. Having played with, and on many tours and this being his 7th studio recording, Memphis continues to write and record taking in his surroundings for inspiration. With his band project: "Presidents Without Countries”, Memphis continues to perform with his working-class rock voice while playing bass bringing the Australian bar rock sound to new European audiences.
